Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies
With the invaluable support of U.S. Senator Jim Jeffords, the University
of Vermont was designated as a National University Transportation
Center in August of 2005.  This prestigious designation gives UVM an unprecedented opportunity to advance and inform priorities in transportation research, education, professional development and overall innovation for Vermont and the nation.

As a National University Transportation Center, UVM is authorized to receive a $16 million research grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation over the next few years.  The UVM Transportation Center will actively engage students and faculty in new research programs with real-world impact as it identifies environmentally and economically sustainable strategies for critical transportation issues.

To date, VCET has linked one client to the Transportation Center resulting in $100,000 in client business.
